Abstract

Assuming that for the financial sustainability of a company, the optimization of resources is necessary for the continuation of its activities and that in an analysis of energy efficiency of the artificial lighting system contributes to this sustainability, a technical study was carried out on the efficiency energy applied to the artificial lighting system. Thus, based on the existing literature, methodologies on the subject were studied and evaluated, a case study was necessary seeking a solution that would present a reduction in electricity consumption. The study analyzed for 6 months the artificial lighting system of a company, which works 8 hours a day for approximately 22 days a month, varying according to the months and holidays. The artificial lighting has tubular fluorescent lamps whose electrical power is 36 Watts. For the analysis of the energy efficiency study, it was compared with the 18-Watt tubular LED lamps, the study would prove that they would present a greater efficiency in the consumption of electric energy, and consequently a financial saving. For the purpose of proof, two environments of the company with similar area and characteristics were analyzed by carrying out the installation of LED lamps in one of them. Thus, a reduction in energy consumption of approximately 47.82% KWh was verified, comparing the two types of lamps, this reduction yields savings of R$ 53.94. Thus, it was found that tubular LED lamps are more efficient in illuminance and in reducing electrical energy consumption.
